Description

The Monroe County Health Department is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-focused nurse to support clinical public health services, communicable and noncommunicable disease prevention and case management, and school health initiatives aligned with Indiana’s Health First Indiana core public health service areas. This position will play a vital role in disease prevention, school health collaboration, and public health preparedness by providing vaccinations, screenings, communicable disease investigations, case management, and administrative support services. This position will respond to and assist with immediate community health needs and events as required, including mass prophylaxis clinics, outbreaks and pandemics, mass treatment sites, and related activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable vaccinating people of all ages, conducting health screenings, working directly with the public, schools, families, and community healthcare providers.

Description

The Monroe County Health Department Health Services Director is responsible for managing clinical and administrative operations, supervising assigned staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, assisting with vaccination and case investigation services, and overseeing public health programs and services designed to protect and improve the health of the community. This position is responsible for overseeing immunizations, health education, community outreach, mobile health clinics, communicable and non-communicable case investigations, disease intervention, lead case management, maternal child health, school health, and public health response to communicable diseases. The ideal candidate is an experienced registered nurse with strong management skills who can lead a multidisciplinary teams and advance community health initiatives

This full-time contractor position is responsible for organizing and providing data management support to the Indiana Department of Health, Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity (IDOH, DNPA), to support the framework and programmatic evaluation of Food is Medicine. Additionally, this position will support data collection, analysis, and dissemination for the three (3) pillars of the Indiana Nutrition Incentive Network (ININ).
