IPHA Monthly Virtual Meet-ups are held the third Tuesday of the month from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Please register here to participate in the monthly meet-ups.
2023 Meet-Up Schedule
January 17th –We were joined by Amy Carter, MSW, MPA, CCAP, the Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator at the Indiana Community Action Poverty Institute, for an overview on connecting personal experience in public health to legislative action.
February 21st – Patrice Johnson, Outreach Engagement Manager for the All of Us Research Program, provided an overview of program and how to participate.
March 21st – We’ll be joined by Kristine Schuster, MPA, Director of Career & Professional Development at IU Fairbanks School of Public Health, for our first ever Student Session! This professional development session is open for all students.

2022 Meet-Up Schedule
November 15th – This meet-up was our annual APHA Conference debrief, featuring conversation from IPHA members who attended and presented at the conference.
October 17th -This month, we featured our partners from the Department of Natural Resources. Amy Marisavljevic, Trails Section Chief, presented an overview of DNR and their health-related initiatives.
September 20th – This month, we discussed IPHA’s Vote for Health campaign, as well as the Governor’s Public Health Commission Report.
August 16th – This month we featured our partners from Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). Brandon Burgoa gave an overview on how the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) collaborates with partner organizations to promote the intersection of active transportation and public health.
July 19th- We did not have our July IPHA Meet-up, but we look forward to seeing you again on August 16th.
June 21st – This month we featured our partners from Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA). Matt Rayburn, Deputy Executive Director & Chief Real Estate Development Officer, presented an overview of IHCDA.
May 17th – The May Meet-up featured members from the Governor’s Public Health Commission.
April 19th – The April Meet-up was canceled for the 2022 IPHA Annual Meeting and Conference: 75 Years of Protecting Indiana’s Public Health.
March 15th – This month, we featured the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). Jessica Yoder, Project AWARE Specialist, presented an overview of the Indiana Department of Education.
February 15th – We featured the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH). Shane Hatchett, Chief of Staff, presented an overview of the Indiana Department of Health.
January 18th – This month, we featured the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration (FSSA). Amy Lewis Gilbert, Chief Science Officer, and Megan Lisch, Special Projects Director, presented an overview of the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration.
2021 Schedule
November 16th – We will be featuring our partners from the Bowen Center for Health Workforce Research & Policy at Indiana University. Courtney Medlock, Assistant Director of Policy & Strategy, will be presenting an overview of the Bowen Center for Health Workforce Research & Policy.
October 19th – This month, we will be highlighting our partners from the Indiana Society of Public Health Education (InSOPHE). Rachel Fogleman, Continuing Education Director of Indiana Society of Public Health Education, will be presenting an overview on the 19th.
September 21st – We will be featuring our partners from the Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA). Dr. Cara Veale, CEO of the Indiana Rural Health Association, will presenting an overview of IRHA.
August 17th – This month we have invited our partners from the Indiana Environmental Health Association (IEHA). Holley Rose, President-Elect and Conference Chair, has been invited to present an overview of the Indiana Environmental Health Association.
July 20th- In July, we will be featuring our partners from Indiana State Medical Association (ISMA). Dr. Roberto Darroca and Julie Reed will be presenting an overview of ISMA.
June 15th – This month we will be highlighting our partners from Indiana State Association of County and City Health Officials (INSACCHO). Dr. Jeremy Adler, of Unity Healthcare in Layfette and current president of INSACCHO, will be presenting an overview of the Association.
May 18th – Danielle Patterson, of American Heart Association, with Dr. Jeremy Adler, of Unity Healthcare in Lafayette, will be giving a wrap-up of the 2021 Legislative Session regarding the tobacco tax, e-cig tax, State Health Improvement Plan and Grant, COVID liability, and public health infrastructure.
April 20th – Andrew Bradley and Natalie James, from Prosperity Indiana, will give a legislative session recap regarding housing and preemption. Also, they will discuss how to get involved in future coalition and advocacy efforts to connect the health care and housing sectors through the Opportunity Starts at Home coalition.
March 16th – Mark Fairchild, from Covering Kids and Families of Indiana, will present a legislative update on Medicaid coverage and reimbursements.
February 16th – Nick Torres, from American Lung Association, will continue the vital discussion from the IPHA Policy and Advocacy Forum regarding pending tobacco tax and control legislation.
